ARTHUR'S NEWS Arthur's has just purchased all the remaining stock of another music store. It's difficult to be an independent business of any kind these days and the music business is certainly no exception. While we hate to see any store close, it's an opportunity to offer you some great prices and unique merchandise.   We haven't moved it all in yet, but it looks like there will be a wide variety of instruments and accessories. So the next time you stop in, you might notice that it's a bit more crowded than usual. The "SOUR NOTES" room   (scratch & dent, for those of you who don't know about it)  will be overflowing!       WHAT IS SPAULTED MAPLE! Spaulted maple results when wood doesn't dry properly and white rot fungus sets in resulting in dark spots in the grain.  Caught at just the right moment, once stabilized the wood is very decorative and often looks like pen and ink drawings. Guitar manufacturers have gotten limited supplies of natural spaulted maple and are making some flat out gorgeous guitars.  We have models in stock by Michael Kelly and Hagstrom.   We still have a few of the last available Hagstrom Ultra Swedes for you to chose from.  BLUEGRASS IN THE GARDEN Our first summer of Bluegrass in the Garden was a great success. Thanks to everyone who brought their instruments and joined in and to those who simply came to enjoy the music.   We originally planned Bluegrass "in the garden" as a summer jam. However, so many of you requested that we keep it going that we'll still host Bluegrass each 2nd & 4th Thursday from 6 pm to 9 pm through Nov. 13th...just not in the garden!  We'll take a break for the holidays and then start up again in January.  Call for more information. Or check our MySpace blog at www.myspace.com/arthursmusicstore.
